GEODIS is expanding its data-driven approach to managing air freight with a new partnership with aviation intelligence specialist Rotate, designed to provide deeper insight into global cargo markets and help more informed strategic planning.

As air cargo networks continue to be shaped by geopolitical developments, supply chain volatility and growing demand for sectors such as semiconductors, electronics and other high-value products, access to real-time market intelligence has become increasingly important for freight operators.

To strengthen its analytical capabilities, GEODIS has chosen to implement Rotate’s Live Capacity and Air Demand solutions across its global air freight operations.

The Live Capacity platform delivers hourly insights into worldwide air cargo supply by combining real-time aircraft positioning data with information covering airlines, airports and operated flights. The system provides visibility across passenger bellyhold capacity, dedicated freighter services and charter operations, allowing GEODIS to monitor available cargo space at flight level across international markets.

In addition to real-time intelligence, the platform includes historical data dating back to 2018, enabling the logistics provider to analyse long-term market trends and identify structural changes affecting air cargo capacity.

Complementing this capability, Rotate’s Air Demand solution offers a detailed view of global cargo demand through trade statistics, traffic flow analysis and external market data sources. The platform provides insights into major international trade lanes and tracks more than 5,000 commodity categories, including rapidly expanding e-commerce flows.

Updated on a monthly basis, the Air Demand product also includes historical demand data dating back to 2010, helping GEODIS better understand market evolution, anticipate shifts in customer demand and identify emerging business opportunities.

The adoption of both solutions comes as freight forwarders increasingly seek predictive tools capable of improving planning accuracy and supporting faster responses to changing market conditions.

Ryan Keyrouse, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Rotate, said the collaboration would strengthen GEODIS’ ability to transform complex market information into practical operational intelligence.

According to Keyrouse, the partnership will help the logistics group make faster and more informed decisions while improving visibility across its international air freight network.

Casper Hedemann also highlighted the benefits of the collaboration, noting that the partnership has already contributed to stronger market insights and a more effective operational approach. He emphasised that the combination of advanced data analytics and close cooperation between both companies is helping GEODIS further develop a business strategy built around intelligence-driven decision-making.

With air cargo markets becoming increasingly complex and dynamic, GEODIS’ investment in advanced analytics reflects a broader industry trend toward leveraging real-time data and predictive intelligence to optimise capacity planning, improve network performance and strengthen competitiveness in global logistics.
