Agency Sector Management (ASM) is preparing to roll out a major update to its Sequoia customs clearance platform as cyber security threats targeting the freight and logistics sector continue to increase.
The company, which is marking its 40th anniversary this year, says the new version — Sequoia V7 — is designed to improve both system security and overall performance for freight forwarders handling customs processes.
The updated platform will be released this summer and includes upgrades aimed at strengthening resilience, improving processing speed and supporting more secure customs operations across the UK logistics sector.
ASM says the changes come at a time when digital trade systems are becoming more exposed to increasingly sophisticated cyber attacks, making stronger protection and system stability essential for operators.
Speaking at the Multimodal Show in Birmingham, ASM Program Manager Simon Adams said the company has spent four decades building software based on the real operational needs of freight forwarders.
He added that Sequoia V7 continues that approach by reinforcing security and performance while helping companies stay protected in a more complex digital environment.
Adams also encouraged freight forwarders and logistics firms to review their cyber security measures and ensure they are prepared for emerging risks across supply chains.
ASM’s Sequoia platform is currently used by more than 450 freight forwarders and logistics companies in the UK to manage customs declarations and related trade documentation.
The update also comes as the UK’s National Cyber Security Centre reports a rising number of cyber incidents affecting critical infrastructure, many of which are linked to hostile state activity, highlighting the wider risks facing interconnected logistics and customs systems.
