Port Polska has ramped up its investment program significantly, starting procurement procedures worth more than PLN 14 billion in the first seven months of 2026 as part of what the company describes as the largest transport infrastructure program in this part of Europe.

By the end of July, the company had initiated 29 procurement procedures for airport and railroad infrastructure. By the end of the year, it intends to issue another 58 tenders, so the total number of procurement procedures will reach 87, with an estimated total value of more than PLN 54 billion.

The investment program is transitioning from planning into implementation with a growing number of projects reaching the design and construction stages. Port Polska said the initiative will create “substantial opportunities for Polish companies and thousands of jobs, and give a major boost to the national economy.”

The procurement program was established to strengthen Poland’s construction, engineering and industrial sectors and to encourage wide participation by local businesses thru its local content strategy, the company said.

Not only should we measure infrastructure investments in terms of the cost of their construction, but also in terms of their contribution to economic growth,” said Piotr Malepszak, Government Plenipotentiary for the Centralny Port Komunikacyjny (CPK) project. He said the more Polish firms, suppliers and workers participate the more investment funding will stay in the national economy and the more competitive local businesses will become.

Several key contracts have already entered the implementation phase. Contracts were awarded for the construction of the baggage handling system for the airport and foundation works for the passenger terminal.

Some key projects are under open tender and competitive dialog such as the airport security screening system, access roads, permanent power supply infrastructure, the railroad tunnel and station under the airport, and procurement of passenger boarding bridges.

On the rail side, the Warsaw–Łódź High-Speed Rail line is also being procured in its first section, including the Kotowice–Airport and Airport–Bolimów sections.

The rest of the procurement program for 2026 includes contracts for the remaining sections of the Warsaw-Łódź high-speed railroad, airport airside and landside infrastructure, railroad signaling systems, large-scale earthworks, the future cargo terminal and energy, environmental, road and specialist airport infrastructure projects.

Port Polska, which plans to raise more than PLN 54 billion this year alone, is promoting the program as a key driver of long-term economic growth and of speeding up development of Poland’s next generation of transport infrastructure.
