Apple is expanding its American manufacturing network by bringing a new titanium supplier on board and deepening an existing partnership for advanced materials used in its latest smartphones. The agreements will support production of the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro, reinforcing the company’s efforts to develop a more extensive domestic supply chain.

Announced in an October 20 press release, the partnerships form part of Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, launched last year as part of the company’s four-year, $600 billion commitment to US manufacturing.

The new agreement involves Perryman Company, a Pennsylvania-based titanium producer. Apple plans to commit up to $100 million over the next three years to the supplier, which melts, forges and rolls titanium containing at least 80% recycled material for the iPhone Duo. Titanium is already used in the casings of numerous Apple products, making the metal an important component in the company’s manufacturing strategy.

Apple is also expanding its agreement with Qnity Electronics, a Delaware-based manufacturer of advanced films. These materials will be used in the iPhone 18 Pro’s new variable-aperture camera system, specifically in the assembly at the centre of the device’s 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera.

The two agreements highlight Apple’s continued investment in American suppliers as it seeks to strengthen domestic production capabilities across several stages of its supply chain.

A nationwide supplier network supporting hundreds of thousands of jobs

According to Apple, its supplier network extends across all 50 US states and supports more than 450,000 jobs. Its global supply chain is considerably broader, encompassing thousands of supplier facilities in more than 60 countries.

“American ingenuity is vital to all our products, from the titanium crafted for iPhone Duo to breakthrough camera innovations in iPhone 18 Pro,” said Sabih Khan, Apple’s chief operating officer, in the announcement.

The company also stated that US businesses manufacture nearly 100 components for the iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro. These include the chips responsible for the devices’ essential functions and wireless connectivity. The suppliers involved are spread across more than a dozen states.

Broadcom, Corning and Amkor expand their US manufacturing commitments

The latest agreements build on several other supplier initiatives announced by Apple this year.

In July, chipmaker Broadcom announced plans to expand and modernise its facility in Fort Collins, Colorado, through a $1.5 billion capital investment. The project will enable the production of advanced radio-frequency components for Apple products.

The investment forms part of a multiyear agreement worth $30 billion that Apple previously announced with Broadcom. Under that deal, Broadcom will develop a range of custom silicon components intended for use across multiple generations of Apple products.

Elsewhere, Apple expects Corning to manufacture all cover glass for iPhone products and the Apple Watch at its facility in Harrodsburg, Kentucky, by the end of 2026. The development further expands the role of US-based manufacturing in supplying materials for the company’s consumer electronics portfolio.

Amkor Technology is also progressing with a major semiconductor investment in Arizona. This year, the company began construction of the main building at its high-volume silicon packaging and testing facility in Peoria. Amkor originally broke ground on the project in October 2025 and expects the facility to create up to 3,000 jobs.

Together, these investments illustrate the breadth of Apple’s American Manufacturing Program, which encompasses raw materials, advanced films, radio-frequency components, semiconductor development, cover glass and chip packaging. By expanding its relationships with domestic suppliers, Apple is seeking to reinforce the US manufacturing base supporting its current and future products.
