The Wella Company, the owner of beauty and haircare brands OPI and Nioxin Pro Clinical, has appointed Javier Huerta as its new chief supply chain officer. His appointment will take effect on December 1, according to an October 23 press release.

Huerta will oversee a global supply chain workforce of approximately 2,000 employees. His responsibilities will cover sourcing, manufacturing, quality and logistics, with the objective of strengthening the company’s operational capabilities and supporting its broader business strategy.

A key priority will be aligning these functions with The Wella Company’s omnichannel approach, which includes e-commerce and direct-to-consumer platforms for selected brands.

Javier Huerta will join The Wella Company as chief supply chain officer on December 1.

Huerta brings 30 years of experience in the tobacco and nicotine products industry, having worked at Imperial Brands before joining The Wella Company. During his tenure, he developed the company’s first integrated, end-to-end global supply chain, according to the announcement.

His professional background also includes senior operational and supply chain positions at Unilever and Nestlé.

At Unilever, Huerta spent more than 11 years in several leadership roles, including executive vice president of supply chain for foods and refreshment, as well as vice president of global supply chain strategy and operations. These positions gave him extensive experience in supply chain management and operational strategy.

Earlier in his career, he spent more than 13 years at Nestlé, where he held positions including operations performance director, industrial engineering manager and manufacturing manager for soluble coffee.

Huerta’s appointment is part of a broader leadership reshuffle at The Wella Company. The business also announced the appointment of Yannis Rodacanachi as chief brand officer, Carole Gardner Diarra as chief marketing officer and Victoria Spadaro Grant as chief scientific and product officer.

According to the company’s announcement, these leadership changes are intended to advance its priorities in brand building, innovation and omnichannel strategy, while reinforcing its capabilities across key business functions.
