Panattoni, a global leader in logistics real estate, has announced a significant milestone at its Burgess Hill Logistics Park in West Sussex. This speculative mid-box development has welcomed its first tenant, marking a key achievement in the company’s expansion across the UK.

About the Development

Located on a 22-acre site near the A2300 dual carriageway, the park provides easy access to major transport hubs, including the A23/M23 corridor, Gatwick Airport, and the bustling south coast markets. The project features:

  • 14 Units ranging from 8,136 sq ft to 142,815 sq ft, designed for light industrial, general industrial, and warehousing purposes.
  • Sustainability Features, including:
    • BREEAM certification of ‘Very Good.’
    • EPC rating of ‘A.’
    • 15% roof lighting and electric vehicle charging points.
    • Up to 7.5 MVa of available power for operational efficiency.

Strategic Importance

This development meets the increasing demand for logistics and industrial space in the undersupplied south coast market. Panattoni’s decision to proceed with a speculative build reflects its confidence in the region’s strong consumer demand and economic potential.

Economic and Community Impact

The park is expected to create 1,000 jobs, bolstering the local economy and providing much-needed infrastructure for businesses in the area. Its strategic location ensures connectivity to major markets, enhancing its appeal to tenants.

Broader Commitments

The Burgess Hill Logistics Park is part of Panattoni’s wider strategy to invest in key UK regions. The company has also acquired additional sites in Crawley and Brighton, reinforcing its commitment to addressing industrial and logistics space shortages.

Looking Ahead

With all units expected to be fully operational by early 2024, the Burgess Hill Logistics Park is set to become a hub for last-mile logistics, driving economic growth and setting new benchmarks for sustainable industrial developments in the UK.
