By Maria Kalamatas – The Logistic News – March 20, 2025

In a landmark initiative aimed at empowering women in supply chain leadership, Redwood Logistics has announced the launch of its inaugural Women in Logistics (WIL) Road Tour. This multi-city event, spanning Mexico, the United States, and beyond, is designed to celebrate eight years of the WIL initiative, which has been instrumental in promoting gender diversity, leadership development, and career opportunities for women in the logistics industry.

A Bold Step Toward Inclusion and Leadership

Redwood’s WIL Road Tour is more than just a networking event—it’s a transformational movement designed to foster collaboration, innovation, and professional growth for women in supply chain and logistics.

“Our WIL events aren’t just about recognizing the exceptional women who have already paved the way,” said Emily Weiser, Senior Vice President of Modern 4PL Strategy at Redwood Logistics. “They’re about inspiring and connecting the next generation of female leaders who will continue to reshape this industry.”

Key Stops on the WIL Road Tour

Monterrey, Mexico – April 10, 2025

The tour will kick off in Monterrey, Mexico, ahead of Redwood’s Cross Border Logistics Council (CBLC) event. The focus will be on navigating cultural shifts in logistics and supply chain management, particularly in the U.S.-Mexico trade corridor. Key speakers include Karin Helgren, Senior Manager of Inbound Logistics at Four Hands, and Shirley Garrison, Associate Director of Transportation at Kubota.

Orlando, Florida – May 5, 2025

The second stop in Orlando, Florida, will feature a panel on resilience and transformation, with an emphasis on breaking barriers for women in logistics leadership. Industry leaders such as Beth Ferebee, VP of Transportation at The Toro Company, and Kari Mahaffey, Senior VP at Oracle, will discuss strategies for achieving long-term success in an evolving industry.

Chicago, Illinois – October 1, 2025

The WIL Tour will culminate at Redwood’s headquarters in Chicago, bringing together some of the most influential voices in logistics. This final event will focus on mentorship, career advancement, and the future of women in supply chain leadership.

Why This Matters for the Logistics Industry

Women continue to be underrepresented in executive roles across the logistics and supply chain sectors. According to industry reports, only 14% of senior leadership positions in logistics are held by women, despite the critical role they play in driving innovation and operational success.

The WIL Road Tour seeks to change that narrative.

“This initiative isn’t just about celebrating progress—it’s about accelerating change,” said Weiser. “By providing a platform for mentorship, knowledge-sharing, and empowerment, Redwood is taking a proactive step toward a more inclusive and diverse industry.”

A Call to Action for Industry Leaders

Redwood Logistics is calling on companies, industry leaders, and logistics professionals to support and participate in the WIL Road Tour. Businesses that prioritize diversity and inclusion see tangible benefits, including higher employee retention rates, improved innovation, and stronger financial performance.

Logistics professionals and organizations interested in joining the WIL Road Tour can register through Redwood’s official events page. Attendees will gain access to thought-provoking discussions, professional networking, and career development opportunities tailored specifically for women in logistics.

Final Thoughts

Redwood’s Women in Logistics Road Tour represents a critical step forward in shaping a more inclusive, dynamic, and innovative logistics industry. With an emphasis on leadership, mentorship, and strategic networking, this initiative will undoubtedly leave a lasting impact on the future of women in supply chain management.
