CRP Subsea has secured a new offshore wind contract from Seaway 7 to supply cable protection systems for ScottishPower Renewables’ East Anglia Two offshore wind development in the North Sea.
Under the agreement, CRP Subsea will deliver 142 of its NjordGuard cable protection systems, designed to safeguard the inter-array cables connected to the project’s wind turbines. The systems will be installed at both ends of the cables to protect them from over-bending, abrasion, and long-term fatigue during installation and throughout operational service.
As part of the project scope, three different NjordGuard configurations will be engineered to meet the installation requirements associated with both monopile and J-tube interface designs used across the wind farm infrastructure.
Manufacturing will take place at CRP Subsea’s dedicated production facility in northwest England. The site includes a semi-automated production line aimed at significantly increasing manufacturing efficiency and production capacity for large-scale offshore energy projects.
Engineering activities are scheduled to begin immediately, with final delivery of the systems expected by February 2027.
The East Anglia Two project forms part of the broader East Anglia Hub development, which also includes East Anglia One North and East Anglia Three. Located approximately 46 kilometres off the coast of Lowestoft and around 113 kilometres from the Netherlands, the offshore wind farm will cover an area of 218 square kilometres.
Once operational, East Anglia Two is expected to feature up to 64 wind turbines with a planned generation capacity of up to 960 MW, reinforcing the UK’s ongoing expansion of offshore renewable energy infrastructure in the North Sea.
