Menzies Aviation has announced a leadership transition, with Philipp Joeinig stepping down as Group Chief Executive Officer and Board Member effective July 31. Hassan El-Houry has been appointed as the company’s new Chief Executive Officer, while Ehab Aziz will be Non-Executive Chairman of the Board.
Joeinig joined the Menzies Board in 2017 and was appointed Group CEO in 2020 where he guided the company through a period of significant transformation and growth. The Board thanked him for his contributions to the business and its continued growth.
Ehab Aziz brings more than 25 years of experience with Agility, where he played a key role in building and expanding global businesses through major acquisitions and strategic transactions. Since joining the Menzies Board as a Non-Executive Director in 2022, he has helped shape the company’s strategic direction.
As Non-Executive Chairman, Aziz will oversee the Board’s governance responsibilities and work closely with the executive leadership team to support the company’s long-term strategy and sustainable growth.
“Menzies is well positioned for its next phase, with a strong team, a clear strategy and the right foundations to deliver it,” Aziz said. He added that the Board remains focused on maintaining high standards of governance while investing in people, customers and future growth.
El-Houry brings more than two decades of experience in aviation services. Before joining Menzies, he led the growth of National Aviation Services (NAS) from a single operation into one of the leading aviation service providers across emerging markets.
He also played a central role in Agility’s acquisition of Menzies Aviation in 2022 and the subsequent integration of NAS and Menzies, creating what the company describes as the world’s largest aviation services provider. Since the acquisition, El-Houry has served as Executive Chairman, helping oversee a period of record financial performance and international expansion.
“It is a privilege to be appointed CEO of Menzies Aviation,” El-Houry said. He highlighted the company’s strong market position and said he looks forward to continuing its growth by investing in employees, strengthening customer partnerships and delivering safe, reliable aviation services worldwide.
Menzies Aviation said its strategic priorities remain unchanged, with continued focus on safety, operational excellence, customer service and sustainable long-term growth across its global network spanning six continents.
