Studio 30 50, the corporate venture-building company spun out of Hafnia, has announced its expansion into Greece through a new collaboration with Orbyt Global focused on maritime digitalisation.
The partnership will support the rollout of a next-generation maritime technology platform designed to enhance digital navigation infrastructure, onboard workflows and operational services for commercial shipping operators.
The initiative marks Studio 30 50’s first major move into Greece, one of the world’s most influential shipping markets, extending its activities beyond its existing bases in Singapore and Denmark.
Under the agreement, Studio 30 50 will provide strategic support to Orbyt Global as it develops and commercialises the platform across the maritime sector.
“Greece is one of the most important shipping markets in the world,” said Shanker Pillai, Head of Studio 30 50.
“Expanding our activities here reflects the kind of cross-market maritime infrastructure work Studio 30 50 wants to be known for. Orbyt Global brings strong market understanding and operational reach within the region, and we’re excited to support this next phase of their platform initiative.”
The platform will deliver a broad range of capabilities, including digital chart distribution, voyage-planning workflows, vessel data services, operational approvals management and onboard-offshore synchronisation systems.
Its architecture is designed to integrate with existing maritime navigation datasets and operational tools already used throughout the commercial shipping industry. Additional functionalities planned for future development include route optimisation, weather overlay services, vessel tracking and advanced navigational support tools.
The collaboration reflects Studio 30 50’s growing role in helping maritime technology companies accelerate commercialisation efforts, deploy digital infrastructure and scale solutions across global shipping markets.
With Greece continuing to play a central role in international shipping, fleet management and maritime services, the company sees significant opportunities to support the industry’s digital transformation.
“Shipping is becoming increasingly connected, data-driven, and software-enabled,” said Martin Mikkelsen, Group Chief.
“We believe there is a significant opportunity to create a more intelligent and integrated operating environment for global shipping, one that simplifies operational complexity, improves visibility, and enables faster, better-informed decision-making.”
The project highlights the continued momentum behind digitalisation initiatives as shipowners and operators seek greater efficiency, connectivity and operational transparency across increasingly complex global shipping networks.
