Baxter Freight has received an EcoVadis Committed Badge, recognising the logistics company’s progress in sustainability and responsible business practices.

The Nottingham-based, B Corp-certified logistics specialist said the recognition reflects its efforts across four key areas: environment, labour and human rights, ethics, and sustainable procurement.

Framework for continuous improvement

The EcoVadis assessment examines 21 sustainability criteria and provides companies with an evidence-based evaluation of their performance, alongside recommendations for further improvement.

The framework is aligned with international sustainability standards and initiatives, including the UN Global Compact, International Labour Organization conventions, Global Reporting Initiative standards and ISO 26000.

Baxter Freight said it intends to use the assessment as a roadmap for strengthening its environmental, social and governance initiatives.

Tom Isler, Associate Director of Innovation and Sustainability at Baxter Freight, said the company is proud of the recognition and intends to build on the progress already achieved.

Targeting Platinum recognition

The company has set itself a longer-term goal of achieving an EcoVadis Platinum medal within three years, while also progressing toward its next B Corp recertification.

According to Baxter Freight, combining the two frameworks will provide additional accountability and help the company measure improvements across its operations.

The objective is to create greater value for employees, customers, suppliers and the wider community while integrating sustainability into its future business strategy.

Focus on greener logistics

Baxter Freight said its sustainability strategy is built around its broader ambition to make logistics more ethical, people-focused and environmentally responsible.

The company provides freight and customs clearance services, alongside carbon-conscious logistics solutions designed to help customers meet both commercial and environmental objectives.

The EcoVadis recognition marks another step in that strategy as the logistics sector faces increasing pressure to demonstrate measurable progress on sustainability.
