DHL Express and Singapore Airlines (SIA) have renewed their agreement for the crew and maintenance of five Boeing 777 freighters at Singapore Changi Airport, extending a partnership that supports DHL Express’ long-haul air cargo operations.
Under the renewed agreement, DHL Express will continue to operate and maintain the dedicated freighter fleet under the existing structure, further strengthening DHL Express’ air cargo network through its Singapore hub.
Under the agreement, Singapore Airlines pilots will continue to operate all five Boeing 777 freighters while the maintenance of the aircraft will remain the responsibility of SIA’s engineering team.
The aircraft are an important part of DHL Express’ intercontinental air network linking its South Asia Hub in Singapore to key destinations in the United States. The fleet offers dedicated capacity for transporting time sensitive shipments across long distances.
“This renewal is a reflection of our continued commitment to grow and maintain the capacity needed to support international trade,” said Travis Cobb, executive vise president, network operations & aviation, DHL Express.
“Renewing this agreement reaffirms our commitment to building and investing in the network capacity that keeps global trade moving,” Cobb said.
“The five Boeing 777 freighters have become a key part of DHL Express’ intercontinental operations and contribute to delivering customer shipments reliably and on time,” he added.
Singapore’s position as a regional air logistics hub and the operational expertise of Singapore Airlines is an important platform to support global trade and connect businesses to the world’s markets for DHL Express.

The five Boeing 777 freighters were gradually rolled out into service from 2022, providing dedicated capacity for time-sensitive cross-border shipments throughout the DHL Express network.
The Boeing 777 freighter can carry up to 102 tons of cargo, making it one of the largest and longest-range twin-engine freighters in service today.
Based in Singapore and flying in dual DHL-SIA liveries, the aircraft will boost DHL Express’ global aviation network and increase long-haul cargo capacity at Changi Airport.
The continued collaboration between DHL Express and Singapore Airlines also points out the value of dependable air connectivity in enabling the expansion of international trade and the movement of goods through more integrated global supply chains.
