A new air freight route has been inaugurated between Urumqi, the capital of northwest China’s Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and Bournemouth in the United Kingdom. This route will operate four round trips per week, with each one-way journey taking approximately 10 hours, according to Urumqi Diwopu International Airport.
This new service adds to the airport’s growing international network, which now includes eight freight routes connecting to countries such as Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Hungary, and Britain.
The cargo services are utilized for a variety of imports and exports. Xinjiang imports items like camel milk, clothing, shoes, and boots, while exporting fresh-cut flowers, medicines, and various apparel products.
