Glasgow Prestwick Airport (PIK) has appointed Jules Matteoni as its new Chief Executive Officer, starting 1 July 2026.
He replaces Ian Forgie, who is retiring after five years in the role.
Matteoni is not new to the airport. He has worked at Prestwick for more than 33 years and most recently served as Operations Director. Over that time, he has helped shape the airport’s growth as a UK hub for cargo and e-commerce.
In his new role, he said he plans to build on the airport’s progress and look for new business opportunities while strengthening existing cargo markets.
He also thanked his predecessor, Ian Forgie, for his leadership and contributions over the past five years.
According to the airport’s board, Matteoni’s long experience and knowledge of operations make him well placed to lead the next phase of development.
Under Forgie’s leadership, Prestwick expanded its cargo operations, including handling more than 33 million e-commerce parcels in the last year, launching regular freighter links between Scotland and China, and exporting over 1.5 million kilograms of Scottish salmon between January and May 2026.
The airport says cargo and e-commerce will remain a key focus going forward, especially as it strengthens its position as a UK air freight gateway.
