Lufthansa Cargo has created GlobeCross GmbH, a new subsidiary formed through the merger of heyworld and CB Customs Broker.
The move is designed to strengthen the German cargo carrier’s position in cross-border logistics, customs services, and international eCommerce flows.
GlobeCross will bring together digital logistics solutions, more than two decades of customs expertise, and integrated end-to-end international logistics services.
The new entity is being positioned for a global trade environment that is becoming increasingly complex, with businesses demanding faster, more transparent, and fully compliant logistics solutions.
According to Lufthansa Cargo, the name GlobeCross reflects the company’s mission: “Globe” represents international reach, while “Cross” refers to the ability to navigate both geographical and regulatory borders.
CEO Ashwin Bhat said the initiative allows Lufthansa Cargo to move beyond traditional airport-to-airport transportation and offer customers a more integrated logistics ecosystem.
For existing heyworld and CB Customs Broker customers, daily operations are expected to continue unchanged in the initial phase.
Over time, Lufthansa Cargo expects the merger to deliver fewer operational interfaces, faster decision-making, and improved service integration.
Nikola Todic, Managing Director of GlobeCross, said the objective is to reduce customs friction and improve the efficiency of international eCommerce flows at a time when cross-border trade is becoming more complex.
