A Milestone in Sustainable Logistics
German logistics company Duvenbeck has officially started operations with its first MAN eTGX Ultra Low Liner electric semitrailer. This cutting-edge vehicle is now servicing routes across the Rhine-Ruhr and BeNeLux regions as part of Volkswagen’s plant logistics network.
Innovative Design for Efficiency
The MAN eTGX features a low fifth-wheel height of just 950 mm and a short wheelbase of 3.75 meters, enabling an interior trailer height of three meters. This design increases transport capacity by 50% compared to standard semitrailers, making it ideal for automotive logistics and enhancing efficiency in the supply chain.
Powerful and Flexible Performance
Equipped with a modular battery system, the eTGX offers configurations with four, five, or six battery packs, providing a range of up to 500 kilometers. It supports CCS charging at 375 kW and can optionally include MCS standard charging, allowing for rapid recharging of up to one megawatt during driver breaks.
A Commitment to Green Mobility
This deployment is part of a larger collaboration between Duvenbeck and MAN Truck & Bus, which aims to integrate 120 electric trucks into Duvenbeck’s fleet by 2026. The initiative aligns with Volkswagen Group Logistics’ strategy to promote sustainable mobility within its supply chain operations and reduce CO₂ emissions.
A Vision for the Future
Duvenbeck’s adoption of the MAN eTGX marks a significant step toward greener logistics, highlighting the potential of electric trucks in reducing environmental impact while maintaining operational efficiency. As more companies invest in such innovations, the logistics industry is set to lead the transition toward sustainable freight transport.
