Taiwanese ocean carrier Yang Ming Marine Transport Corp has introduced a new intra-Asia service to cater to the booming regional trade between China, South Korea, Japan, and Southeast Asia. The service, titled “KVS” (Korea-Vietnam Shuttle), is designed to offer shippers more frequent departures and faster transit times, focusing on shorter routes in the high-demand Asia market.
With intra-Asia trade experiencing significant growth, Yang Ming’s new service aims to capitalize on the shifting dynamics of the global supply chain, where shorter regional routes are becoming just as important as transcontinental shipping lanes. As factories in Southeast Asia ramp up production to meet global demand, Yang Ming’s service will play a key role in facilitating smoother and more reliable cargo flows between industrial hubs in the region.
The addition of this service not only underscores the importance of intra-Asia trade but also positions Yang Ming to tap into the growing need for diversified shipping solutions outside of the traditional long-haul routes.
