Ca’arbom, a Brazilian climate technology company, has become a member of the Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association (ALTA). This partnership aims to enhance efforts in mitigating climate change within the aviation sector.
Pioneering Carbon Credit Projects
In collaboration with BrCarbon, Ca’arbom is spearheading the Brazilian Amazon project, recognized as the world’s largest carbon credit generation initiative. Spanning 30,000 hectares with plans for expansion, this project produces millions of tons of voluntary carbon credits. The initiative is now progressing towards offering jurisdictional carbon emissions solutions.
Strengthening Industry Collaboration
ALTA’s Executive Director and CEO, José Ricardo Botelho, highlighted the significance of this collaboration:
“The inclusion of Ca’arbom in our network will bolster the industry’s efforts to reduce emissions and develop solutions aligned with environmental commitments.”
Botelho, along with Milena María Fajardo Villada, ALTA’s Director of Fuels and Sustainability, visited the Brazilian Amazon project to observe its impact on carbon emission reduction and community development.
Addressing Regional Emissions
Between 2013 and 2023, Brazil and Mexico accounted for 2.6% of global aviation emissions, underscoring the need for targeted environmental strategies in the region.
Commitment to Sustainable Aviation
Headquartered in Brasília, Ca’arbom serves as an innovation hub, uniting multidisciplinary teams dedicated to research, development, and project execution. The company’s strategic location facilitates regional and international impact, with established partnerships and initiatives directly contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions in aviation.
