Ontario’s road infrastructure pipeline remains active, with major highway and transportation projects moving through the pre-bid stage as of August 2026.

Among the projects identified in ConstructConnect’s latest ranking of the Top 10 Pre-Bid Road/Highway Projects in Ontario, the Highway 413 Transportation Corridor stands out for the scale of the work planned.

The ranking, published by ConstructConnect Project Research on August 11, 2026, covers projects based on their value as of August 7, 2026.

Highway 413 takes shape

The Highway 413 Transportation Corridor involves a major combination of road construction, paving, bridge work and site development.

The project calls for the construction of a 52-kilometre highway and transitway, extending from Highway 400, between Kirby Road and King-Vaughan Road, in the east to the Highway 401/407 ETR interchange area in the west.

Once completed, the corridor will connect the York, Peel and Halton regions, creating a new transportation link across a rapidly developing part of Ontario.

The wider project also includes extensions to two existing highways.

These comprise a 4-kilometre extension of Highway 410 and a 3-kilometre extension of Highway 427.

Extensive supporting infrastructure

The scale of Highway 413 goes beyond the main roadway itself.

The planned works include 11 interchanges with municipal roads, along with stormwater management ponds designed to support the corridor’s drainage infrastructure.

The project will also provide carpool lots, commercial vehicle inspection stations and maintenance facilities, adding a range of supporting infrastructure to the highway network.

The scope also covers the necessary site work and paving associated with the road and highway construction, as well as bridge and tunnel-related works.

The project is located in Guelph, Ontario, according to the ConstructConnect listing.

A major project in Ontario’s infrastructure pipeline

The Highway 413 corridor illustrates the scale and complexity of infrastructure projects currently progressing through Ontario’s pre-bid market.

With a 52-kilometre main corridor, two highway extensions, multiple interchanges and supporting facilities, the project involves a broad range of construction activities and transportation infrastructure.

ConstructConnect’s August ranking identifies 10 major pre-bid road and highway projects across Ontario, ranked according to project value as of August 7.

The Highway 413 project is therefore part of a wider pipeline of road infrastructure opportunities that could generate significant activity for contractors, engineering companies and suppliers as projects advance toward bidding and construction.
